About
Chris Ireland
I am a qualified and experienced Chartered Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and registered with the following:

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapy (AACP)

With over 15 years of clinical experience and progressing to Advanced Practice level, I now run Trent Bridge Physio with one goal in mind. To use everything I have learnt throughout my career to help people with pain and injuries.

I qualified in physiotherapy back in 2009 at the University of Leicester and spent some years working around the East Midlands before leaving for the Orkney Islands. This is where I spent 7 years working in a Advanced Practice role extending my knowledge further with masters level study and developing a variety of additional skills.

In my spare time I like to take to the water, spend time in the outdoors with my 2 children, keep fit and travel.

Trent Bridge Physio's
Approach
Trent Bridge Physio is a Advanced Practice Physiotherapy led pain and injury clinic. Here, the aim is to use what science has taught us to provide modern, evidence based treatments but without forgetting the thousands of years of wisdom that came before.

With this combination of approaches we will commit to work with you to help you achieve your goals, fight pain and manage injury all whilst supporting you to improve your health and wellbeing.
Some cultures have relied upon physical therapies for thousands of years to maintain health and well-being and treat pain and injury. traditional therapies such as those listed still form a major part of some cultures today.
Frustratingly, guidelines in the western world fail to appreciate this traditional wisdom and now require scientific evidence in order to recommend many treatments that were once available in the UK. This is one of the reasons the NHS does not often offer hands on treatment.

My belief is that a lack of scientific evidence does not mean a lack of effectiveness.
